Walker provided Functional Design and Structural Engineering services for this 1,038 space 6-level cast-in-place post-tensioned concrete parking structure. Project challenges included s severe slope above the 805 Freeway, a 60 foot high soil nail wall, endangered species occupied the southeast corner of the site, concerns of lighting spilling into the adjacent neighborhood, and the requirement to design a podium that would accommodate a future Ronald McDonald House.
Five of the levels are fire-rated S3 for an enclosed garage and one level is rated R1 for a future Ronald McDonald House.
This parking structure was awarded the Award of Merit for Best Design from the International Parking Institute.
