David Stott Building Façade

The David Stott Building in downtown Detroit was completed in 1929 and is an example of the Art Deco style designed by the firm of Donaldson and Meier.  The building base, clad in granite, brick, and terracotta, as well as supporting steel elements, were found deteriorating at locations of water exposure.

Walker Consultants performed a due diligence condition appraisal prior to purchase, and then additional condition appraisal and investigation work from suspended scaffolds after purchase. Walker provided design repair documents for pricing by repair contractors and performed construction observations during construction.
