Bayside Marketplace Restoration

The Bayside Marketplace parking garage was built in 1984. It is a 4-level post-tensioned, cast-in-place concrete structure and the south side of structure has one less supported level.

The roof level had closed due to cracking of floor slabs and underside concrete beams. Investigation determined post-tension cables inside concrete slab were experiencing corrosion due to lack of waterproofing.

• Walker and J. Gill teamed for design-build approach
• Installation of galvanized steel beams underneath roof level deck
• Additional post-tension cable installations to adequately support live load of vehicles during peak hours of operation
• Project was completed in 9 weeks, under-budget and 2 weeks ahead of schedule
